Bio

Francesca Scaini is a Registered Psychotherapist and Art Therapist with over seven years of professional practice supporting children, adolescents, and adults through both art-based and talk therapy. She earned her Master’s in Art Therapy from New York University in 2018 and has since built a diverse practice across private, community, and school-based settings.

Grounded in a psychodynamic and trauma-informed approach, Francesca helps clients explore the impact of early experiences on present challenges while fostering resilience and growth. She works with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, bullying, interpersonal struggles, and family conflict, tailoring interventions to each client’s needs. Her work with Indigenous children and adolescents in remote Ontario communities deepened her commitment to culturally sensitive, strengths-based practice and strengthened her skills in crisis intervention, suicide risk assessment, and the integration of CBT, DBT, and mindfulness techniques. In addition to individual therapy, Francesca has experience in developing and facilitating creative wellness programs within academic settings that offered opportunities for self-expression, regulation, and connection. She has training in ASIST Suicide Prevention, CBT, DBT, and decolonizing art therapy, and continues to pursue advanced training to expand her clinical toolkit.

Francesca’s therapeutic style is warm, flexible, and collaborative. She recognizes that reaching out for support isn’t easy and deeply respects the courage it takes to consider therapy. She strives to create a safe, compassionate, and collaborative space where clients feel heard and supported as they navigate life’s challenges. Francesca believes art therapy offers individuals a powerful, non-verbal way to process difficult emotions, while psychodynamic exploration allows clients of all ages to develop deeper insight, resilience, and lasting change. She is comfortable working with individuals across the lifespan and feels privileged to accompany each client on their unique path toward healing and growth.
