Bio
Stephanie Turner is a seasoned counsellor with over 20 years of experience and has been a Registered Psychotherapist since 2015. She brings extensive experience in supporting both individuals and families through a wide range of challenges. She specializes in couples therapy, helping partners deepen their connection, strengthen their relationship and build healthier and more fulfilling relationships. She is passionate about supporting couples as they navigate challenges, grow together and create lasting change in their relationship. In addition to her work with couples, she has extensive experience providing therapy to children, teenagers and families and is committed to helping individuals and their families navigate emotional challenges and build resilience. She brings creativity and adaptability to each therapeutic relationship, recognizing that every client’s needs are unique.
Throughout her career, Stephanie has worked in a variety of settings, including the criminal justice system, a private school, rehabilitation center, and community-based agencies, providing therapeutic care to children, youth, teens, young adults, and families.
Stephanie completed her graduate studies in Counselling Psychology at the Ontario Institute for Studies. Her integrative approach draws on several evidence-based modalities, including the Developmental Model for Couples Work, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Experiential Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy. She is currently qualifying in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to support trauma-related work. Education, University of Toronto.
Stephanie incorporates Polyvagal Theory into her practice, helping clients understand the connection between their central nervous system, thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. She offers a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to work through life’s ups and downs.
With warmth, compassion, and a deep respect for individuals from all walks of life and cultural backgrounds, Stephanie supports her clients in building self-awareness, resilience, and practical skills to heal, grow, and live purposeful, rewarding lives.
